The Senior International Trade Compliance Specialist at Uline plays a critical role in navigating the challenges of the global economy. As a key part of the corporate team, this specialist ensures that all international shipments comply with regulatory requirements and meet government standards for import and export procedures. The position involves detailed review of product descriptions and technical data to determine accurate classifications, which is essential for legal compliance and optimizing tariff costs. Besides classification, the specialist administers internal audit processes to maintain classification accuracy and ensure proper import entries. This role requires active communication with customs brokers, government agencies, and both internal and external customers and vendors, responding timely and effectively to inquiries concerning international shipments. The specialist also takes responsibility for researching regulatory issues, licensing, and evolving government agency requirements to create and refine processes that keep the company compliant and efficient. Managing trade compliance programs includes activities such as follow-up on compliance issues, leading process improvements, facilitating internal communication, providing team training, and ensuring audit readiness.
