The position available is for a Vehicle and Facility Cleaner at NJ TRANSIT. Reporting to garage management, this role is essential to maintaining all NJ TRANSIT vehicles, including buses, ensuring they are clean, presentable, and safe for daily operation. The Vehicle and Facility Cleaner will be responsible for the thorough cleaning of the interior and exterior of NJ TRANSIT buses and other vehicles, including sweeping, mopping, window washing, upholstery cleaning, and trash removal. The role also involves cleaning company properties and facilities, operating mechanical cleaning equipment, and assisting with maintaining overall cleanliness standards. This role is pivotal in upholding NJ TRANSIT's service quality and customer experience standards by ensuring that vehicles and facilities meet health, safety, and aesthetic expectations. The ideal candidate must be able to understand both written and spoken instructions and work harmoniously with coworkers with minimal supervision. The job demands regular physical activity such as lifting, carrying, bending, and extensive standing, which requires a moderate level of physical endurance. Candidates should be prepared to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and be available for emergency shifts.   • Previous janitorial experience preferred
