This position is pivotal within the University of Florida Physicians' patient service structure, functioning as a patient service representative in a busy call center setting. The role involves delivering exemplary patient-centered service by providing accurate information about hospital services to patients, staff members, and external healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include intake triage, appointment scheduling, referral processing, and registration of new patients, ensuring each interaction reflects the highest standards of professionalism and efficiency. Agents are expected to adhere strictly to administrative protocols and UF Physicians' policies, which govern referral and patient management processes. Due to the extensive and specialized training required, employees are initially assigned to a specific pod for a minimum of 12 months before eligibility for transfer, fostering mastery of role-specific skills and consistency in patient care. This role demands excellent interpersonal skills, resilience in high-stress situations, and the ability to communicate financial information tactfully with patients.
