This role is a full-time position offering a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $75,000 annually. The Sous Chef position at Bon Appetit is designed for a passionate and dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative food service environment. As a Sous Chef, you will play a critical role in the successful operation of the Culinary Department at one of Bon Appetit's contract food service facilities. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to plan and execute the daily food preparation and cooking activities, ensuring that every dish represents the high standards of quality and presentation that Bon Appetit is known for.
This position involves supervising kitchen staff, assisting with menu development, managing food costs, and organizing catering events. The Sous Chef is also responsible for helping to roll out new culinary programs in collaboration with the company's marketing and culinary teams. This role requires an individual with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, excellent management skills, and a deep understanding of contemporary food trends and operational efficiency. - minimum of A.S. degree or equivalent culinary experience
- proven progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
- experience with high volume and complex foodservice operations
- knowledge of catering and batch cooking
- computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite and internet usage
- strong leadership and communication skills
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- ServSafe certification preferred
