The role of Training Support Specialist within ATP's Training Support Department is a crucial position that directly impacts student experience and success. As ATP continues to expand its flight training enrollment, there is an increased need for dedicated professionals to facilitate an exceptional and seamless training journey for each student. The Training Support Specialist serves as the primary liaison between students and the vast resources available through ATP. Their goal is to ensure students can access everything they need to complete their training on time, stay within budget, and meet all program milestones effectively. This includes providing guidance through the Airline Career Pilot Program, offering personalized support, and addressing any logistical or scheduling issues that may arise during the training process.
The specialist works both individually and in groups to maintain ongoing communication with students, proactively managing their schedules and helping them navigate the various stages of their flight training. This role requires a high degree of organizational skill, attention to detail, and a customer-service mindset, as it involves handling FAA certification processes, scheduling exams and checkrides, and collaborating with instructors and designated pilot examiners (DPEs). Additionally, the Training Support Specialist plays an instrumental role in managing contingencies such as weather delays, aircraft availability, and instructor limitations, contributing to a smooth and effective learning environment.
Furthermore, the position involves conducting pre-arrival preparations, day one check-ins, weekly orientation meetings, and inspections of ATP housing facilities.
