The Traffic Producer position at PIX11 is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic setting. This role is pivotal to the PIX11 Morning News team, tasked with leading the traffic and transit coverage that is crucial to morning commuters. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of local roadways and public transit systems, ensuring viewers receive accurate and actionable traffic information. This role demands a keen eye for detail and the ability to process information rapidly from various sources including traffic cameras, maps, social media, and police scanners. Additionally, the Traffic Producer collaborates closely with the on-air talent and AIR11 helicopter unit to enhance live broadcasts with up-to-the-minute updates.
Beyond monitoring and reporting, the producer will create compelling graphics and maps to visually aid storytelling, making complex traffic patterns understandable for viewers. This role is not only about delivering facts but also about crafting an engaging narrative that keeps audience members informed and prepared for their commutes. Essential to success in this position is the ability to meet tight deadlines consistently over a six-hour morning broadcast window, often requiring the creation of multiple updates every ten minutes.
