This specific opportunity is for a Sushi Chef position within Hy-Vee's Asian Department, a specialized segment focused on delivering authentic and fresh Asian cuisine options. The Sushi Chef plays a critical role in preparing and filling customer orders with fresh sushi, both packaged and made-to-order. In addition to food preparation, this role requires handling food safely by adhering to proper sanitation practices and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The Sushi Chef is also responsible for ordering and receiving sushi products, verifying order accuracy, labeling, dating, and stocking items appropriately.
The Sushi Chef fosters a positive company image through courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service by engaging directly with customers and team members. This involves greeting customers warmly, learning their names, providing helpful information, and answering questions to enhance their overall shopping experience.
