The General Manager (GM) position at Thorntons is a pivotal leadership role that oversees all facets of store operations to ensure excellence in guest service and financial performance. The GM is charged with creating and maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for both team members and guests, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and company policies. This role is responsible for managing the execution of store operations through effective delegation, coaching, and motivating of team members while driving sales growth and controlling costs. The GM actively leads training and development programs to cultivate a skilled and motivated team, aligning individual performance with Thorntons' core values and strategic goals. Critical to success in this role is the ability to analyze financial reports, manage inventory, and implement corrective plans to meet budget targets. - High school diploma or GED
- Minimum three years single-unit management experience in retail and/or food and beverage industries
- Ability to drive a safety culture and ensure compliance with safety procedures
- Proven ability to manage financial performance and inventory control
- Strong delegation and team management skills
- Ability to recruit, hire, and schedule employees with adherence to labor regulations
- Reliable transportation
- Physical ability to perform lifting, standing, and other physical activities
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Ability to obtain food safety and handling certification if not possessed upon hire
