This is a full-time opportunity within the Housekeeping and Laundry Department, involving work every other weekend, aligning with the department's commitment to maintaining clean and sanitary environments throughout the premises. The role within the Housekeeping and Laundry Department revolves around performing various housekeeping and cleaning activities as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. These tasks are carried out within well-established guides and assigned areas, with an emphasis on following cleaning schedules that cover daily, weekly, and monthly tasks. Responsibilities include the thorough cleaning of assigned areas, furnishings, and fixtures; execution of floor maintenance such as sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting; prompt response to emergency housekeeping situations involving accidents; as well as dusting, spot cleaning, and polishing moveable and stationary furniture. Additional duties involve maintaining bathroom cleanliness across different types of facilities (resident, private, and public), replenishing bathroom supplies, washing windows, mirrors, walls, and doors according to schedule, and performing terminal cleaning in resident rooms to prepare for new occupants. The role also involves managing soiled linens by sending them to laundry, monitoring furnishings and fixture conditions, reporting necessary supply and equipment needs, and assisting with laundry tasks as required. The employee is expected to cooperate with team members, maintain proper grooming and uniform standards, and ensure full attendance to meet the department's efficiency and morale standards. This position demands physical strength and health, as well as familiarity with basic housekeeping functions, making it essential for applicants to be well-prepared for the physical and procedural demands of the role.

  • Able to read, write and speak English
  • Physically healthy and strong enough to perform duties
  • Must have yearly TB test or chest x-ray
