We are currently seeking a talented and service-oriented individual to join the culinary team as a Task Force Sous Chef at the Six Seven Restaurant & Lounge, located within The Edgewater Hotel. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead within a full-service, upscale dining environment where high standards and attention to detail are paramount. The Task Force Sous Chef will assist in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality in both la carte and banquet services, and contributing to a cohesive, collaborative team atmosphere. This position requires a professional with culinary expertise including cooking, light butchering, and dessert preparations alongside strong skills in inventory management, ordering, and cost control. The ideal candidate must be able to work efficiently with precision, prioritize tasks promptly, and understand guest service needs deeply, tailoring food preparation to deliver an excellent dining experience. The role also involves identifying and fulfilling training needs within the kitchen staff, ensuring compliance with health department rules, liquor laws, and food preparation regulations. Flexibility in work scheduling and shift lengths is essential due to the dynamic nature of hospitality business needs. Compensation for this role is $2,000 a week, with accommodations and travel reimbursement available, reflecting the high level of responsibility and expertise required. - Banquet chef and/or sous chef experience at a 4-star hotel or resort for a minimum of 5 years
- Ability to operate in a full-service establishment
- Familiar with all aspects of cooking, light butchering, light dessert, banquets, and la carte
- Knowledge of food inventory, ordering, costing
- Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize and organize
- Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
- Must understand guest's service needs
- Ability to ascertain departmental training needs and provide such training
- Must have knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulations
- Must be open to a variable schedule and length of shifts
