Meridian, ID, USA, ID Part-Time $18 - $21
The City of Nampa, located in Idaho, operates a comprehensive support system centered around community welfare and victim assistance. One of the key establishments within the city is the Family Justice Center, an integrated hub specifically designed to assist victims of various forms of abuse, including domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, child abuse, elder abuse, and sex trafficking. The Family Justice Center is dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming environment for individuals and families in crisis, offering a wide array of supportive services coordinated in collaboration with multiple partner agencies. The center’s primary goal is to facilitate healing and ensure safety through advocacy, coordinated response, and comprehensive support. Within this committed and compassionate setting, the City of Nampa is seeking a part-time Support Receptionist/Advocate to join the Family Justice Center team. This position is classified as non-exempt with a work schedule of up to 19 hours per week. The hourly wage ranges from $18.44 to $21.00, depending on experience. Under the supervision of the Client Service Coordinator, this role is pivotal in first-contact engagement, providing a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for those who walk through the doors of the Family Justice Center. The Support Receptionist/Advocate plays an essential part in ensuring the safety and well-being of clients by managing the front lobby, answering incoming calls, and assisting visitors with friendliness and professionalism. Beyond receptionist duties, this position carries significant advocacy responsibilities. The Support Receptionist/Advocate conducts initial screenings, including intake assessments, risk evaluations, and safety planning to identify the needs of victims seeking help. This role requires entering client information into the CARENET system accurately and maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and agency guidelines. The individual will be actively involved in direct advocacy and support, offering long-term case management if desired by the client, working closely with non-offending caregivers of child victims, and participating as a vital member of multidisciplinary teams during forensic interviews. The position entails regular interactions with diverse groups, including victims, caregivers, partner agencies, and community members, demanding excellent communication skills, calmness in high-risk situations, and the ability to build trusting relationships. This role is heavily centered on trauma-informed care, and the successful candidate must commit to ongoing training in the fields of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, elder abuse, and related areas. The work environment is primarily office-based, focusing on maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming space for clients and visitors. Employees in this role will manage both administrative and advocacy tasks, including maintaining cleanliness and organization, monitoring the children’s play center, and fulfilling various duties assigned by the Executive Director. This position does not offer benefits or PERSI (public employee retirement system) eligibility but is vital to the community-first mission of the Family Justice Center. The ideal candidate will have an associate degree, preferably in social work or a related field, along with relevant experience that equips them with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to support victims effectively. Strong proficiency with personal computers and MS Office Suite is required, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The capacity to remain composed in challenging scenarios and collaborate with partner agencies and community members is essential. The City of Nampa enforces a drug and alcohol-free workplace policy, requiring pre-employment drug screening and background checks for all applicants. This opportunity is not just a job but a meaningful role supporting some of the community's most vulnerable members. Join the Family Justice Center as a Support Receptionist/Advocate and be part of a dedicated team making a tangible difference in people's lives through compassionate care and professional advocacy.
