Team Members are responsible for providing fast, friendly, and knowledgeable assistance to customers, helping them navigate the extensive selection of products available. The position includes various specialized roles such as Outdoor Enthusiast, Apparel Sales Team Member, Fishing and Hunting Sales Team Member, Footwear Sales Team Member, Sports Sales Team Member, Store Cashier, Brand Specialist, and roles in Logistics, Merchandising, and Operations including Asset Protection, Custodian, Inventory Control, Merchandising, and Receiving Team Members. This variety allows employees to find positions that match their interests and skills related to sports and outdoor activities. The ideal candidate for these positions will have a high school diploma or GED, with some roles preferring an associate or bachelor's degree, particularly for Asset Protection Team Members. Relevant work experience is preferred, including previous retail or customer service experience, operation of POS equipment, and knowledge of outdoor hobbies such as fishing, hunting, and camping. Skills essential for success include excellent customer service orientation, the ability to engage effectively with customers, problem-solving capabilities, organizational skills, and proficiency in using operational tools and inventory systems. Physical requirements include the ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and the physical stamina to perform tasks such as walking, standing, lifting up to 60 pounds occasionally, and meeting vision and hearing standards. • High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous related work experience preferred
• Ability to operate POS equipment and telephone
• Four or more years of personal experience with outdoor hobbies
• CPR and First Responder certification a plus
• Knowledge of loss prevention or criminal justice a plus
• Ability to meet federal and state requirements for selling firearms
• Ability to qualify for and maintain FOID card (Illinois only)
• Strong situational awareness and observation skills
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing, and walking
• Must adhere to company policies and work hours
