The position available is for a Flight Instructor who will work under the general direction of the Chief Flight Instructor to deliver high-quality flight training to students within the professional pilot programs. Flight instructors at Andrews University are responsible not only for teaching flight techniques but also for ensuring that all training activities comply with FAA regulations and university policies. As a Flight Instructor, you will be instrumental in shaping the next generation of aviation professionals by providing individualized instruction, maintaining flight proficiency, and promoting safety and professionalism. Your duties will include participating in standardization training to stay current with instructional techniques and equipment, meeting with students according to scheduled lessons, overseeing the proper completion of flight lessons and documentation, and assisting with various aircraft maintenance and departmental activities such as fueling and aircraft movement. You will also be expected to contribute actively to research and implementation of innovative teaching methods to continually enhance the quality of flight education offered. The role demands strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage stressful situations effectively. Additionally, because Andrews University is a faith-based institution, candidates must be Seventh-day Adventists in good and regular standing, exhibiting the values and ethics consistent with the university's mission.
