The Senior Retail Associate/ Barista position at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln specifically involves the supervision and operation of the coffee shop located in the Kiewit Café. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the café’s operations. In this capacity, the Senior Retail Associate/ Barista plays a vital leadership role, managing student employees, coordinating inventory and supplies, overseeing cash control and sales reconciliation, and supporting pricing strategies to maintain profitability.
The role demands excellent interpersonal skills as the associate will be the welcoming face to guests, students, faculty, and staff, providing a friendly atmosphere and accurate, timely beverage service. Beyond customer interaction, the position entails comprehensive operational tasks such as cleaning and sanitizing equipment, ordering food products and supplies, and maintaining inventory levels aligned with the café’s standards.
