The City of Hampton is currently seeking a part-time Sports Events Logistics Assistant to join its Athletics Program team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth execution of various sporting events held throughout the community. Under the general supervision of the Athletics Program Coordinator, the Sports Events Logistics Assistant will be responsible for supporting the setup, coordination, and wrap-up activities associated with sports events. This includes aiding in the preparation before events, helping facilitate the event itself, and assisting with post-event tasks. The job requires a proactive and energetic individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a passion for sports and event management. The position demands flexibility as it involves shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays, and may also require some local travel. Additionally, the role may require the incumbent to serve as essential personnel during city emergencies, which could involve long hours and unconventional schedules.                 - graduation from high school or successful completion of GED
 - one year of experience in event setup and logistics, sales, customer service, or closely related experience
 - some experience in a sports related field preferred
 - must possess a valid driver’s license
 - must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record based on City of Hampton’s criteria
 - must successfully pass a background check
 - may require some local travel
 - requires shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays
 - may be considered essential personnel during city emergency situations
