The International Logistics Specialist will play a vital role in ensuring that Operation Christmas Child's gift-filled shoeboxes reach children in need worldwide, supporting the ministry's mission to spread the Gospel and change lives. In this role, the successful candidate will work at the intersection of logistics coordination, international shipping, and ministry support. They will be responsible for managing complex logistics operations, including the oversight of export processes, coordination with freight forwarders, and navigation of customs clearance challenges. With approximately 20-30% of global shipments under their regional management, this position demands strong organizational skills and a deep understanding of international shipping regulations and practices. The specialist will lead and guide global leadership teams to mitigate risks and ensure readiness for shipments, managing key operational aspects such as ocean carrier contracts, loading plans, and container tracking to safeguard ministry resources. The International Logistics Specialist will also travel internationally, meeting with business partners and government officials to facilitate importation channels and maintain smooth shipment movement. This travel component, which ranges from 40 to 60 days annually, is critical for establishing and nurturing essential relationships that support the delivery of Operation Christmas Child shipments. The role also includes financial responsibilities such as budgeting for transportation and processing invoices related to clearance and port expenses. Additionally, the specialist will maintain a detailed database of country-specific documentation requirements and standard operating procedures vital for efficient shipment movement. • bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• three to five years experience in international shipping, especially sea containers
• fluency in English
• ability to travel 40-60 days annually with necessary travel documents and vaccinations
• willingness to relocate temporarily to processing centers for shipping operations
• 12 credit hours of biblical studies either completed or willing to complete
