The position available is for a Sous Chef, a pivotal role within Eskaton’s Dining Department responsible for ensuring high-quality food service that meets approved menus, property policies, and regulatory standards. This role involves hands-on food preparation as well as leadership responsibilities. The Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef and may assume full operational control of the kitchen in their absence, ensuring that all dining services consistently maintain excellence in quality, safety, and guest satisfaction. Starting at $27.00 per hour, this role offers competitive compensation in alignment with the candidate's experience, skills, and education level, along with internal equity and market considerations. Eskaton supports professional growth by offering health benefits starting the first of the month after 60 days of employment and Paid Time Off after 90 days. The ideal candidate for the Sous Chef role will have a minimum of two years of professional experience in a restaurant or equivalent food service environment. A high school diploma or equivalent is required while additional coursework or education in food service and management is preferred. Holding a valid ServSafe certification is mandatory to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Eskaton values candidates who possess strong interpersonal communication skills, telephone etiquette, and administrative competencies such as document preparation, calendar management, and filing. All final candidates will need to successfully pass pre-employment screenings including a criminal background check, drug testing, TB and health screenings.
