The role of Sous Chef at Canteen, located at Raymond James in Saint Petersburg, FL, offers a full-time opportunity for culinary professionals who are enthusiastic about leading kitchen operations that align with corporate standards and enhance customer satisfaction. This position operates primarily on a Monday through Friday schedule with morning shifts, ideal for individuals seeking stable work hours. The hourly wage ranges from $23.00 to $24.00, reflecting the importance of experience and expertise in fulfilling the role's demands. As a Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Executive Chef by preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes and production standards, ensuring timely completion of all kitchen tasks. You will also manage and supervise hourly food service associates, handling responsibilities such as interviewing, training, scheduling, payroll oversight, and performance reviews. Maintaining impeccable food safety and sanitation standards is critical, including proper food storage, handling, portion control, and temperature maintenance to deliver excellent culinary products. This role demands a hands-on leader capable of maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, upholding company policies and compliance with state and federal regulations.
Furthermore, you will engage with customers to address any complaints in a cordial and service-oriented manner, ensuring guest satisfaction while relaying relevant feedback to supervisors. Demonstrating a thorough understanding of menu items and educating both associates and customers is essential for successful service delivery. The Sous Chef is also responsible for overseeing inventory management, tracking product usage, monitoring waste, and coordinating with supervisors to ensure supply levels are adequate. This dynamic role requires flexibility to perform additional duties as assigned to meet business needs.
