The Housekeeper II position within the Environmental Services Department is a full-time role that requires dedication, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to supporting the hospital’s mission. The Housekeeper II is responsible for performing cleaning services diligently while interacting respectfully and compassionately with patients and their families. This role is a high customer service position, requiring proficiency in AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You) techniques to ensure positive communication and foster trust. Key responsibilities include making beds, emptying trash receptacles, wiping and sanitizing equipment, cleaning furniture, polishing floors, vacuuming carpets, cleaning restrooms, laundering hospital linen, and performing daily inspections and inventory of housekeeping equipment. The Housekeeper II is trained in the use of cleaning chemicals, demonstrating competency in proper usage, disposal, and safety precautions to maintain a clean and safe hospital environment. This role emphasizes safety and infection control measures critical in pediatric healthcare settings. The schedule for this position is a 40-hour workweek with shifts from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, including rotating weekends and holidays, reflecting the hospital’s commitment to providing continuous, round-the-clock service.
