The role of Sous Chef at the San Diego Mission Bay Resort is a pivotal position within the culinary team that offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity for professional growth. As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Executive Chef and the broader kitchen staff to deliver exceptional food and beverage experiences across the property’s diverse culinary outlets. This includes four unique restaurants: Solrisa, which brings the vibrant flavors and culture of Mexican food poolside; Plaza Del Sol, a lively hub featuring craft cocktails and shareable small plates shaded by palms; Covewood, an indoor/outdoor venue characterized by Pacific breezes and fire features serving local bounty; and Mission Joe, a laid-back spot known for acai bowls and coffee. Additionally, the Sous Chef will support banquets and catering services that handle everything from intimate waterfront weddings to large corporate events of over 500 attendees. The position demands strong culinary expertise, a passion for mentoring and developing staff, and an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Union experience, menu development skills, and cost control knowledge will be vital assets.
