The Sous Chef position at Highgate Hotels is a critical role responsible for overseeing the culinary operations within the hotel kitchen. The position involves ensuring that all meals produced are of the highest quality in terms of consistency, presentation, taste, and cost control. The Sous Chef plays a vital role in training kitchen staff, maintaining corporate quality standards, and enforcing food specifications, portion control, recipes, and sanitation procedures. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage food and labor costs effectively while prioritizing guest satisfaction. The Sous Chef collaborates closely with Food and Beverage managers and senior kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations, timely service, and compliance with health and safety regulations. This position offers an annual salary ranging from $60,000 to $65,000 and qualifies as a full-time employment opportunity.                 - High school diploma or equivalent
 - minimum 4 years of progressive culinary experience or culinary degree with at least 2 years of experience
 - knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques
 - understanding of health department regulations and liquor laws
 - ability to work long hours including weekends and holidays
 - physical capability to perform medium work with frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
