We are currently seeking a Sous Chef to join the Morrison Healthcare team at an acute care facility located in Mobile, AL. This role offers a salary range of $50,000 to $60,000 and entails playing a pivotal role in the success of the food program by assisting in the oversight of culinary operations. As a Sous Chef, you will be directly involved in planning, ordering, inventory management, and food preparation while ensuring adherence to client culture, Health Department regulations, and company standards related to food quality, freshness, and presentation. The position includes leading, motivating, training, and developing back-of-house associates, ensuring that all culinary functions meet the expectations of customers, clients, and management. The Sous Chef will also collaborate with marketing and culinary teams to roll out new culinary programs, assist with menu planning, manage cost control efforts, and perform other duties as assigned. - 5 years of related culinary experience including 1 year at the management level
- Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations
- Knowledge of food and industry trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, safety, food cost controls, and presentation
- Ability to set up and distribute production sheets
- Supervisory, leadership, training, management, and coaching skills
- ServSafe or Department of Health Certification is preferred
- Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products including Excel
- Associate's degree in Culinary Arts is preferred
