The Supervisor role at ABM is pivotal, designed to ensure the smooth operation and success of various projects and teams at designated sites. This position is a full-time hourly role with a pay rate of $26.00 per hour, although the exact offer may vary based on the candidate’s experience, skills, geographic location, and market alignment. Supervisors function as the main point-of-contact for client liaisons, fostering positive client relationships with a customer-centric approach. The role requires managing day-to-day operations, overseeing team performance, and guaranteeing that performance goals are consistently met. An essential aspect of the job entails providing leadership and support to staff, ensuring a strong safety culture by training employees on proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe movement practices.
Supervisors are responsible for coordinating work schedules to meet service delivery expectations while also being available for emergency and off-hour support as needed. They play a significant role in maintaining quality standards by regularly interacting with clients to promptly resolve any service-related issues. Training and managing janitorial and porter staff falls within the scope of this role, ensuring compliance with both standard and client-specific cleaning protocols, secure handling and storage of cleaning supplies and chemicals in line with OSHA and Safety Data Sheet requirements, and safe operation of cleaning equipment like buffers and scrubbers.
Another critical function of the Supervisor is the continuous monitoring of employee timekeeping and adherence to work schedules and company policies. The role also involves seeking opportunities to increase revenue by identifying potential billable projects with new or existing clients. When staffing shortages occur due to absences, Supervisors either arrange substitutions or personally undertake tasks to maintain timely completion of contracted services. This position demands excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills, along with strong communication abilities to provide clear guidance and presentations to both small and large groups. - High school diploma or GED
- At least 2 years of experience supervising employees
- Experience with commercial cleaning industry is a big plus
- Experience effectively managing teams
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
