The General Manager position at the VEN Embassy Row Hotel, a Marriott Tribute Portfolio Hotel located in the vibrant Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC, represents a leadership role of significant responsibility and impact. This full-time, executive role centers on overseeing all operational aspects of the hotel, ensuring the highest standards of customer service and product quality while meeting profitability goals. The General Manager is charged with cultivating a customer-focused hotel environment where associates are motivated and empowered to deliver their best performance. This role involves comprehensive administrative duties including the review and management of occupancy and revenue reports, budget formulation, and strategic business planning to optimize the hotel's financial success. The General Manager is also responsible for direct supervision of department managers, fostering teamwork, and implementing improvement plans to enhance operational efficiency.
In addition to operations management, the General Manager acts as the hotel's public face, engaging with community stakeholders, clients, and guests to promote the property and sustain a positive public image. Daily responsibilities include physical inspections of the property to uphold standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and service quality. The role also requires participation in corporate meetings and committees, attendance at sales trips, and collaboration with human resources to address associate concerns in line with company policies.
