We are currently seeking a part-time shuttle driver to join our team in Providence, RI. This position primarily involves working late Saturday nights from 7pm to 3am, with the possibility of additional shifts on Thursday and Friday evenings for those interested. The role is critical in providing safe transportation for college students and other patrons during late hours. Drivers in this role earn a base rate of $20 per hour, with an increased rate of $22 per hour for those holding a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement. The shuttle driver will be responsible for safely operating a 14-passenger walk-on shuttle, ensuring that all passengers are transported securely and comfortably. The driver must maintain high standards of professionalism and customer service, assisting patrons as needed and fostering a positive experience for all individuals using the shuttle service. This requires excellent communication skills, the ability to stay alert and focused during late-night hours, and adherence to all traffic and safety regulations. In addition to driving, the shuttle driver will perform routine vehicle inspections before each trip, ensuring that the vehicle is in proper working order and reporting any maintenance issues promptly. Daily operational paperwork and accurate recording of passenger numbers and trip times are essential responsibilities as well. The position also includes tasks such as assisting with equipment setup and breakdown, keeping the shuttle clean and debris-free, and effectively communicating with management and fellow team members via radio. We require that candidates must be at least 18 years old and have prior customer service experience. A valid Rhode Island Chauffeur License or a CDL with a passenger endorsement is mandatory, along with a valid medical card.
