2Life Communities is a pioneering organization dedicated to enriching the lives of older adults by fostering vibrant, inclusive, and supportive environments. With a deep commitment to promoting connection, purpose, and well-being, 2Life Communities operates multiple residential and community-focused facilities designed to meet the diverse needs of seniors. Their mission centers on creating opportunities for older adults to live fully engaged lives, surrounded by like-minded individuals and a wealth of resources that encourage personal growth and community involvement. One of their latest and most innovative projects is Opus Newton, a groundbreaking community tailored for older adults who are in a unique financial position—not qualifying for subsidized housing yet unable to afford the high-end market options. This inclusive community is set within the JCC Campus in Newton and is physically connected to 2Life Community's Coleman House, offering residents an exceptional living experience enriched by natural beauty and cultural engagement. The community's hallmark is its emphasis on volunteerism, requiring each resident to contribute at least 10 hours of volunteer work per month, thus fostering a spirit of giving back, strong community bonds, and meaningful interactions. Beautifully landscaped terraces, a cozy cafe, cultural arts and learning spaces, fitness facilities, patios, and gardens enhance the quality of life for residents, while walking trails connect Opus Newton to other community landmarks such as the JCC, Newton Community Farm, and Nahanton Park.
The Server role at Opus Newton is a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about serving the elderly in a warm and professional setting. This position is instrumental in delivering exceptional hospitality to independent elderly residents and their families, ensuring their dining experience is both pleasant and accommodating. The server will be responsible for greeting guests, waiting on tables, and bussing tables, all while upholding the highest standards of care and respect. This role demands a collaborative team player who embodies the spirit of warmth, inclusivity, and reliability. Both full-time and part-time positions are available, offering flexible scheduling options including nights, weekends, and holidays. Servers at Opus Newton will need to arrive prepared and in uniform ahead of their shifts, utilizing Point of Sale (POS) systems effectively and taking part in pre-meal meetings to stay informed about menu offerings. They will be expected to maintain cleanliness and safety standards within dining and service areas continuously and communicate openly and compassionately with residents to help them fully enjoy their meals. Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks such as bending, lifting up to 30 pounds, and maintaining high energy throughout shifts are necessary to meet the demands of this rewarding role. This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a dynamic community setting where every interaction helps make a difference in the lives of older adults. Joining Opus Newton means becoming part of a forward-thinking community that values dignity, respect, and active engagement in every aspect of life.
