This particular role is embedded within the Product Safety and Aviation Regulatory team at GE Aerospace, which is responsible for ensuring the company’s continuing compliance with U.S. Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and other relevant aviation rules at a global scale. Reporting to the Executive Counsel of Product Safety and Aviation Regulatory, the successful candidate will provide expert legal counsel and strategic advice aimed at ensuring regulatory adherence across multiple business functions. The position entails close collaboration with various internal stakeholders, including the Product Safety & Quality team, Regulatory Strategy team, Airworthiness & Certification Office, and the Chief Engineer's Office. Furthermore, the role supports commercial engines and services teams concerning product certification and maintenance requirements.
The role is pivotal in advising on FAA design, production, and maintenance regulations and supporting compliance efforts for global divisions holding authorizations from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and other aviation regulators. Responsibilities include providing counsel on the usage and maintenance of FAA Production Certificates, advising on Type Certificates and design approvals, supporting compliance with the FAA's drug and alcohol program, and assisting with internal investigations related to aviation regulatory matters. The expert will also address issues stemming from bilateral aviation agreements, acquisition or divestiture concerns, licensing agreements, and the impact of international sanctions.
