As a production and packaging team member at Lake Champlain Chocolates, you will play a vital role in crafting and preparing their exquisite chocolates. Working in the vibrant factory located in Williston, Vermont, this seasonal full-time position offers approximately 40 hours of work weekly, with potential overtime during peak seasons. This role involves hands-on activities such as decorating and filling molds, operating small equipment, and packaging specialty chocolates with meticulous attention to detail. You will be essential in ensuring the chocolates maintain the high standards expected by the company and its customers.
Your responsibilities will span both the production and packaging processes. On the production side, tasks include decorating molds using various tools, accurately filling molds with chocolates and centers, monitoring and maintaining appropriate temperatures, transporting molds for cooling, and demolding chocolates after hardening. You will also load and unload the enrober machine by hand and decorate enrobed items to enhance the chocolates' visual appeal. Strict adherence to safety procedures, company policies, and quality standards is crucial in this role, as is keeping accurate job sheets and labels.
On the packaging side, you will be responsible for hand-packaging specialty chocolates, assembling gift baskets, wrapping chocolate bars, and labeling products efficiently and accurately. This role also involves hand-tying ribbons and bows, packing and palletizing cases, and collaborating closely with team members to maintain smooth operations. You will assist other teams and departments as needed while ensuring product quality and compliance with the company's standards. Reporting process or equipment issues promptly to supervisors will ensure continued operational excellence.
