The Barista ensures caring hospitality and outstanding customer service through expert product knowledge and dedicated customer interaction. This role can be full-time or part-time, with full-time colleagues typically working 30 or more hours weekly, and part-time colleagues working between 12 to 24 hours per week, depending on business needs and individual availability. The role includes hands-on experience with drip coffee, cold beverages, espresso bar, and pastry stations. The Barista follows all company and health department standards to maintain cleanliness and proper equipment maintenance. By employing Starbucks Simple Service Steps and Magic Selling skills, Baristas create an exceptional customer experience and foster genuine connections with customers and colleagues. This position places strong emphasis on merchandising, product presentation, and adherence to Starbucks recipes and serving speed standards. Additionally, the role involves managing inventory, following opening and closing checklists, and supporting a respectful and inclusive work environment. Physical activities in the role include standing for long periods, lifting items up to 25 pounds, and extensive use of technology such as cash registers and handheld equipment.
