Within this innovative environment, the opportunity exists to join the Space Domain Awareness (SDA) mission by supporting the Commercial Integration Cell (CIC) within the Combined Space Operations Center (CSpOC) and United States Space Forces Space - Combined Joint Force Space Component (S4S-CJFSC). The position of CIC Commercial Duty Officer (CDO) is pivotal in supporting the United States Space Force and the SDA stakeholder community under the Sensor Systems Support (S3) contract. Located at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, the role is strictly onsite, requiring a dedicated schedule with no telework options due to the nature of the operations floor setting. Space Domain Awareness is critical in protecting and defending U.S. space systems that provide essential space-based intelligence, early warning, communications, and global positioning services. These systems support national security, the economy, and act as force multipliers during conflict. As a CIC Commercial Duty Officer, you will play an essential role in ensuring the secure, safe, and effective operation of satellites, spacecraft, and ground stations operated by commercial mission partners. This multifaceted role demands technical expertise, excellent situational awareness, strong communication skills, and the ability to respond quickly to unexpected events. The Commercial Integration Cell fosters seamless operational and technology exchange between space operators at the CSpOC and commercial satellite owners/operators. This function supports real-time and near real-time information sharing during routine operations and enables rapid, informed responses to critical space events, whether planned or unplanned, enhancing Space Domain Awareness overall. In this role, you will be a trusted advisor, identifying and assessing risks and threats to Commercial Mission Partners, coordinating government support activities during your shift. You will manage routine messages, maintain awareness of satellite maneuvers, and communicate succinctly about unexpected space events that could affect national security interests. Your work will also involve monitoring commercial mission partner activities and system capabilities, contributing to enhanced space situational awareness for U.S. defense missions. This position is impactful and demanding, offering the chance to contribute directly to U.S. space superiority in times of competition and crisis, making it a compelling career for motivated and dedicated professionals ready to support national space security objectives.
