The role of Area Sales Manager (ASM) at Gillis is a strategic and impactful position tailored for experienced sales professionals in the hotel industry. This home-based role operates remotely during the client’s business hours and involves working closely with a portfolio of six multi-branded hotels located throughout Canada and the USA. Reporting directly to a Director of Sales, the ASM is responsible for driving proactive and outbound sales strategies, enhancing market share, and achieving aggressive revenue milestones within a shortened six-month sales cycle. The ASM acts as an extension of the hotels they serve, cultivating strong client relationships with Hotel Owners, General Managers, and front-line teams through constant communication and coaching. A key element of the role is fostering a sales-focused culture within each hotel, sharing best practices, and delivering insightful bi-weekly sales strategy presentations. This position comes with a competitive salary of $70,000 CAD/USD, combined with quarterly incentives and an annual profit-sharing bonus, which reflects the company’s commitment to rewarding performance and dedication. Employees also benefit from capped time off with 15 accrued paid time off (PTO) days per year plus additional "Gillis Days" in months without an observed holiday, comprehensive benefits, and regular team offsite events that promote camaraderie and professional networking.   • 3 or more consecutive years of hotel guestroom sales experience in business transient, crew, and government segments within a select service hotel
  • 2 years of experience in a dual or area hotel sales role is preferred
  • Strong understanding of hotel systems, RFP process, and brand tools
  • Understands how to communicate and negotiate effectively to convert prospecting efforts into actualized revenue
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with hotel clients and team members
  • General hotel operations knowledge
  • Proven experience using a CRM system to manage sales pipeline and be accountable for daily activities and follow-ups
  • Strong ability to use Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint
  • Ability to work remotely from your home-office at a computer for extended periods
