The Front Desk Agent role at Hotel Nikko San Francisco is vital in sustaining the hotel’s stellar reputation for customer service excellence. This full-time hourly position plays a key role in welcoming guests, managing check-in and check-out processes, and serving as a crucial liaison between guests and various hotel departments to efficiently resolve any issues or special requests. Front Desk Agents are responsible for ensuring guests feel welcomed from the moment they arrive to their departure, contributing significantly to the overall guest experience.
The role involves performing a multitude of check-in functions such as early check-in, late check-in, and handling guests without reservations, all in adherence to hotel policies and operational procedures. Agents handle check-out duties including processing checks, charges, cash, and direct bill payments while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. They are also tasked with managing guest correspondence by sorting and distributing messages, small packages, and mail. Additionally, the role demands proficiency in producing reports like room status, bucket checks, and VIP guest reports, as well as managing key issuance and ensuring security protocols are followed.
Candidates need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, an ability to multitask under pressure, and maintain composure in emotionally charged situations. Familiarity with computerized front office systems, such as OPERA and Micros, is preferred but not mandatory. The position requires a strong attention to detail, the capacity to follow complex instructions, and the aptitude for engaging collaboratively with guests and colleagues in a courteous and professional manner. Physical demands include standing for long periods, frequent reaching, twisting, and turning, emphasizing the operation of office equipment such as telephones, computers, and printers.
