The Porter-New/Used position at AutoNation is a vital role responsible for maintaining the appearance and operation of the dealership's vehicle inventory and property. As a Porter, you will be tasked with tasks like keeping the vehicle lot neat and orderly by moving vehicles according to sales managers' directions and meeting dealership display standards. Ensuring all vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and properly staged with accurate window stickers on both the sales floor and lot is a key element of the position. In addition to managing the vehicle inventory, the Porter also plays an important role in customer service by transporting customers and dealership personnel as needed, assisting with vehicle deliveries to buyers, and performing general building and grounds maintenance including weather-related cleanup tasks. The role requires good mechanical skills to handle basic automotive maintenance and the safe operation of machinery and tools. Drivers must be able to safely operate vehicles, including those with manual transmissions, and be willing to drive across surrounding states to transport vehicles between dealerships or storage facilities.
