The Sales & Events Coordinator role at SMI Hotel Group is a full-time position essential to supporting both the Sales Manager and General Manager in orchestrating successful events and maintaining strong client relationships. This position serves as a pivotal communication link between customers and various hotel departments, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of events ranging from small meetings to large-scale functions. The ideal candidate is an energetic self-starter with a friendly demeanor, eager to learn new computer programs and multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional customer service skills, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to handle additional responsibilities as they arise are critical to thriving in this role. The Sales & Events Coordinator will engage in a comprehensive range of duties that span administrative assistance, event planning, contract management, and client communication. Responsibilities include ensuring a high level of customer service throughout the lifecycle of events; leading regular communication among all departments to align operational goals; managing event contracts per the Sales Managers directives; creatively executing clients' visions while maximizing hotel revenue; and maintaining timely and accurate documentation such as Group Resumes and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs). Proficiency with property management systems and sales databases is necessary to manage group blocks, balance financial settlements, and support marketing and lead generation activities. This dynamic role also involves managing social media outlets, responding to client inquiries with a professional and welcoming attitude, and assisting with administrative tasks like correspondence preparation and office supplies coordination. Candidates for this position will ideally bring prior experience in the hotel industry or banquet services, along with strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. The ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, handle interruptions professionally, and thrive under deadlines is essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, alongside experience with Adobe Acrobat Writer is expected.
