The Event Coordinator role at Michaels, based in the Taunton, MA store, is a dynamic and engaging position that plays a crucial part in delivering memorable experiences for customers. This role involves planning, coordinating, and facilitating a variety of events within the store, including children's birthday parties, craft classes, and other creative events. The Event Coordinator is responsible for creating a stress-free, fun, and engaging environment for guests of all ages, ensuring their satisfaction throughout the event. This includes demonstrating and instructing participants in craft projects, performing face painting, and managing party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons according to company standards. The role also supports Omni channel processes such as Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS), participates in truck unloading, stocking, and merchandising duties, and helps maintain store recovery standards. Physical demands include standing for long periods, moving throughout the store, regular bending, lifting, reaching, and carrying, as well as handling heavy boxes and using ladders to access high shelves. The work environment is a public retail setting that includes climate-controlled areas and some outdoor work when retrieving shopping carts or unloading trucks.
