The position of Restaurant Manager at The Kahala Hotel & Resort is a full-time, exempt role offering a competitive monthly salary ranging from $5,167.66 to $6,000. The Restaurant Manager is responsible for the profitable management of a specified restaurant outlet and must ensure the highest standards of quality across food, beverage, service, and cleanliness. This role demands strong leadership, guest relations expertise, and operational oversight to maintain and elevate the restaurant’s performance within the resort. The Restaurant Manager actively inspects operations and handles guest inquiries and special requests with tact and diplomacy, emphasizing service excellence and maintaining a welcoming environment. Supervising and developing a team of line staff including hosts, waiters, and bartenders is an essential component, along with enforcing hotel policies and maintaining payroll controls for financial success. A significant aspect of the role involves implementing marketing plans, managing budgets, forecasting labor needs, and streamlining restaurant operations to maximize revenue and profitability.
Furthermore, the Restaurant Manager oversees the training and development of assistant managers and service staff to align with the hotel’s mission and goals, introducing new menus and seasonal promotions to attract and retain customers. - Minimum ten years restaurant and/or hotel food and beverage experience required
- Five years previous management experience preferred
- High school diploma or general education diploma required
- Certification of tuberculosis clearance required
- Hawaii State Liquor Commission Management Card (blue) required
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work varying shifts and maintain attendance
- Ability to comply with hotel rules and grooming standards
- Ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours a day
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to operate computer systems and relevant software
- Ability to work both indoor and outdoor environments
- Must maintain neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
