The role of a Restaurant Manager at Del Taco is integral to the success of each store's operations. This position reports directly to the District Manager and is responsible for protecting and delivering the Del Taco brand effectively. The Restaurant Manager plays a vital leadership role in driving sales growth while maximizing operational efficiency and profitability through adherence to the Del Taco Way - a guiding philosophy focused on excellence in service, teamwork, and execution of brand standards.
In this position, the manager leads recruitment efforts to fully staff the store with qualified personnel, ensuring all team members are adequately trained and certified according to company protocols. The manager fosters a service-oriented culture where fun and teamwork thrive, encourages employee development, and cultivates future leaders within the organization. Key responsibilities include evaluating staff performance, making decisions related to salary increases and disciplinary actions, and ensuring compliance with all operational and safety standards.
The Restaurant Manager also ensures consistent delivery of quality products to customers, proper facility maintenance, and adherence to promotional standards and cleaning schedules. Efficiency and customer satisfaction are achieved by aligning staffing levels with projected sales, increasing customer counts, and executing local marketing initiatives to boost store traffic. The manager ensures cash handling and inventory are meticulously managed to reduce waste and prevent theft, while also maintaining compliance with labor laws and company policies.
This role requires a strong leader with excellent organizational and analytical skills, capable of working under pressure and independently. The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in the QSR or full-service restaurant industry, a high school diploma or equivalent, and ServSafe certification. Fluency in English is mandatory, with Spanish considered a plus, reflecting the diverse customer base Del Taco serves.
Physically, the job involves working in both office and restaurant environments, including extended periods of standing, sitting, typing, and some physical activities such as reaching and lifting. The manager must also have the ability to travel to various restaurant locations within the assigned district, including overnight trips, supported by a valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance.
This full-time role offers a competitive salary range from $65,000 to $75,000, reflecting the importance of the managerial position within the company's operational framework.
