SAIC is currently seeking a Full-time Remote Pilot Operator (RPO) to join the Controller Training Solutions (CTS) team at the Dallas-Fort Worth Air Traffic Control Tower (DFW ATCT) in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX. This role plays an essential part in supporting the air traffic controller training services for the FAA. The RPO position involves simulating the role of pilots and other controllers within an air traffic control training environment, enabling trainees to engage in high-fidelity, realistic simulations. The position is full-time, scheduled during regular day shifts, and does not allow for remote or travel work options. This role requires candidates with strong communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and a keen ability to interpret complex instructions and use simulation systems effectively. In this role, the Remote Pilot Operator interacts directly with air traffic control trainees in the simulator setting, operating a simulated radar display and a voice communication system to mimic the actions and communication of pilots and other remote ATC facilities. Responsibilities include responding to student controllers’ voice commands using accurate aviation phraseology, inputting pilot responses into automated systems, and ensuring that all communications adhere to FAA standards. The RPO must complete required classroom and lab certifications to validate their ability to operate all simulator positions competently. The FAA plays a critical role in managing one of the busiest airspace systems globally, ensuring the safety and efficiency of air traffic. The FAA relies on contractors like SAIC to provide comprehensive training services that prepare air traffic controllers for their vital duties. This partnership supports the FAA's mission by enhancing controller readiness through sophisticated simulation training, promoting safety, professionalism, and operational efficiency on a national scale. A successful RPO will contribute directly to this mission by facilitating high-quality, effective training operations that help maintain the integrity of the National Airspace System.
