CocuSocial, backed by Y Combinator, is one of the largest marketplaces for culinary experiences in the United States. The company empowers individual chefs and businesses to host a wide variety of cooking classes, baking classes, wine tasting workshops, and mixology classes. Currently, CocuSocial provides its services in 26 major cities across the US, including New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Washington DC, Seattle, Philadelphia, and San Diego. The company’s mission is to educate, entertain, and bring people together through food and drink, fostering community and connection through shared culinary experiences. As a minority founded and owned company, CocuSocial embraces diversity and inclusivity, celebrating individuals from all backgrounds. Their platform showcases a wide range of culinary traditions and experiences, emphasizing the power of food to unite people beyond cultural, ethnic, religious, or sexual orientation differences. CocuSocial offers a vibrant environment where chefs and culinary professionals can share their passion with enthusiastic learners in an engaging, hands-on format. The position available is for experienced Chef Instructors who will teach live, in-person recreational cooking, baking, and pastry classes. This is not a virtual role; instructors will lead classes in CocuSocial's partner venues such as restaurants, hotels, breweries, and event spaces. This role represents a unique opportunity for chefs to share recipes and dishes they are passionate about while benefiting from flexible scheduling and competitive compensation. CocuSocial provides a supportive team that assists instructors in designing best-selling classes, creating an environment where chefs can flourish as educators. Chef Instructors are expected to have expertise in teaching popular international dishes — including handmade pasta, cheese making, choux pastry, ramen, pad Thai, Spanish paella, and Spanish tapas. The instructors will be responsible for organizing and guiding each class from start to finish. Responsibilities include purchasing ingredients, setting up the venue, teaching each dish step-by-step in a hands-on manner, and ensuring the cleanup process is completed thoroughly. This part-time contract role offers flexibility for chefs who want to expand their professional skills in teaching while engaging with diverse culinary enthusiasts. It also allows for creative freedom, as instructors can focus on recipes that resonate with their personal style and culinary expertise. CocuSocial values instructors who are passionate about sharing culinary knowledge and fostering an inclusive community through interactive food experiences. This role is ideal for chefs eager to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives by combining education with entertainment in a warm, welcoming setting.
