This position requires a proactive leader who can manage programs in specialty areas such as athletics, aquatics, cultural arts, outdoor recreation, historic preservation, senior services, or golf, tailoring services to the unique needs of these segments. The successful candidate will supervise staff, manage schedules, evaluate performance, and ensure excellent customer service by interacting effectively with patrons. They will deliver specialty services aligned with the program goals, contributing to the overall success and growth of the recreational offerings. This position also involves responsibility for the physical facility, including safety checks, maintenance assessments, and the enforcement of policies designed to protect both staff and participants. A key aspect of the job is to develop and refine these procedures, taking a leadership role in the continuous improvement of operational standards. Financial responsibilities include operating facility management software to process registrations, admissions, cash handling, and banking duties. The candidate will assist with budget preparation, ordering supplies and equipment, and maintaining detailed records, reports, inventories, and schedules. Emergency response skills such as administering CPR and using an AED device are essential, as the role requires readiness to address urgent situations swiftly and effectively. Flexibility in work hours is required, as the position demands availability for some weekend, evening, and holiday shifts. Physical demands entail performing light work with frequent walking, standing, and stair climbing, along with the capability to exert force up to 40 pounds regularly.   • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in recreation or facility management
  • excellent spoken and written english communication skills
  • ability to supervise and evaluate staff

  • certified in cpr and aed preferred
  • flexible availability including weekends evenings and holidays
  • ability to perform light physical work involving walking standing and stair climbing
  • valid driver’s license and safe driving record
