The Receptionist role is a vital part of the administrative team at Harlingen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, classified as a PRN (pro re nata) position, primarily covering weekend shifts. The position does not require travel and demands an individual who can effectively manage front desk operations, ensuring smooth communication between residents, family members, visitors, and the facility’s personnel. This function plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of office workflows, working closely with the Administrator and Business Office staff. As the face of the center's administrative operations, the Receptionist is responsible for answering telephone calls promptly and courteously, managing mail distribution, and assisting with general office duties. Additionally, the receptionist handles accounts payable processes, including the collection, processing, and submission of invoices on time.
The position also involves maintaining vital records such as employee phone lists and mailing monthly resident statements related to room and board charges. A key aspect of the role includes actively participating in programs aimed at enhancing the residents' lives, which involves contributing to patient care initiatives and census-building efforts. The receptionist also supports recruitment, training, and retention activities within the nursing facility, contributing to the development of a skilled and motivated staff workforce. Moreover, this individual is tasked with maintaining compliance by assisting in the verification of vendor credentials with EPLS and OIG databases. The role requires excellent organizational skills, adept communication capabilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
