The role of Receptionist in our Somerville community is pivotal to ensuring smooth and effective communication between residents, staff, vendors, and visitors. This full-time, in-person position requires a dedicated individual who will manage front office operations and serve as the primary point of contact for those entering the community. Scheduled from Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm with an hour lunch break, this role demands professionalism, reliability, and a service-oriented approach. The Receptionist will be instrumental in maintaining an organized office environment, managing communications efficiently, and supporting property management in various administrative and operational tasks. The hourly compensation for this role ranges from $22.00 to $24.00, reflecting the importance of the position and the experience required.
Key responsibilities include answering and directing phone calls appropriately, greeting and assisting visitors and residents, managing mail correspondence, and maintaining inventory of office supplies. The Receptionist also plays a crucial role in monitoring access systems, parking protocols, and resident storage facilities, contributing directly to the safety and convenience of the community. Additional duties involve filing documents, ensuring cleaning services meet the required standards, assisting with work order documentation, and collaborating closely with tenants, vendors, and co-workers to ensure that all assignments and requests are completed promptly and efficiently. The Receptionist may also assist the Property Manager with special projects, providing valuable support that enhances community operations.
This position requires excellent customer service skills, the ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and the capacity to maintain composure and clear communication even in urgent or emergency situations.
