WOI is currently seeking a dedicated seasonal Assistant Event Manager to join their team for the upcoming holiday season. This temporary role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to be part of a dynamic, fast-paced event environment. The Assistant Event Manager will support the Event Manager in overseeing daily park operations at WOI's Holiday Drive-Through locations. As the second in command, this position plays a critical role in maintaining high standards from guest arrival through the entire event experience. The Assistant is responsible for managing the flow of cars from the queue into the show areas, ensuring operational procedures are followed meticulously to maximize guest satisfaction and safety.
The role requires exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a lively outdoor setting, often under varying conditions. The Assistant Event Manager will also step into the Event Manager’s role if needed, demonstrating leadership, quick decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities. This position offers a rate of $23.00 per hour with an expected work week ranging from 30 to 40 hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
The successful candidate will be someone who takes pride in their work and consistently goes above and beyond to enhance the customer experience. Strong communication skills are essential, as the Assistant will liaise between different levels of management, park staff, and guests. The role also demands effective listening and interpersonal skills to resolve issues promptly and efficiently. Experience working within a team, the ability to motivate and manage Park Ambassadors, and familiarity with G-suite programs are crucial for success. Flexibility and adaptability to changing environments and schedules are also important traits for prospective applicants.
In addition to operational management, the Assistant Event Manager will be involved in administrative tasks such as pulling order information from the ticketing system, maintaining vendor communications and records, and ensuring merchandise procedures are followed. The position demands a proactive approach to maintaining an organized and clean Front of House office and ensuring all equipment is prepared nightly. The Assistant will contribute to creating a positive work culture that supports staff retention and teamwork.
