The Executive Chef role at Morrison Living is a pivotal position that combines culinary talent with leadership and organizational skills. The Executive Chef will oversee recruiting, training, food preparation, and the delivery of show-quality meals, demonstrating personal involvement in task performance and actively developing and empowering the onsite team. The position demands continually improving resident, employee, and client satisfaction while maximizing financial performance by managing budgets, food and labor costs, and maintaining strict adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols. The successful Executive Chef will lead all culinary operations, including daily meal production, food quality and presentation, compliance with safety and sanitation standards, team productivity, and cost controls to ensure overall profitability. Responsibilities include directing menu development based on product availability, creating distinctive seasonal specials, sourcing fresh ingredients, maintaining product consistency, and researching customer preferences to integrate local flavors into menus. The role also requires supervising cooks and kitchen workers, ensuring safety and sanitation compliance, monitoring performance standards, and reinforcing safety procedures consistently. From a business perspective, the Executive Chef will participate in strategic planning aligned with the community’s mission and vision, manage controllable expenses, develop purchasing and receiving guidelines, analyze financial and operational data, and oversee budgeting. They will be responsible for controlling food, labor, and other costs, managing inventory and purchasing, and scheduling staff based on forecasted volumes. This role is also deeply committed to delivering exceptional customer service by training and empowering team members to provide best-in-class service and genuine hospitality, responding to resident feedback, and addressing guest concerns effectively. Additionally, the Executive Chef plays a critical role in team-building and staff management. They will lead regular team meetings, establish and communicate goals, solicit employee feedback, support employee engagement, and ensure fair treatment. Providing ongoing training, tools, coaching, and counseling to team members are essential to help them reach their full potential and achieve performance objectives.   • Associate degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum five years progressive experience in culinary or kitchen management
  • proven ability to manage high volume kitchen operations
