The role of General Cardiologist at the Porter Heart & Vascular Center offers a unique and exciting opportunity to join the only full-time cardiology clinic serving Interior Alaska and the Far North region. This position focuses on outpatient care, delivering patient-centered services that encompass both the diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of cardiovascular health. As part of a robust and collaborative cardiovascular team that includes two interventional cardiologists and five advanced practice providers, the General Cardiologist will play a vital role in managing a diverse patient panel with a wide array of cardiovascular conditions. The clinic emphasizes a comprehensive approach to care, covering short-term and long-term management as well as prevention through education and clinical expertise.
Working at the Porter Heart & Vascular Center means engaging with advanced cardiovascular technology and performing a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including nuclear cardiolite imaging, exercise stress testing, transesophageal echocardiograms, electrical cardioversion, and loop recorder placements. The cardiologist will be responsible for interpreting ECGs, echocardiograms, holter monitors, and event monitors, providing accurate and timely assessments to inform patient care. This position features a Monday through Friday outpatient clinic schedule, seven weeks of annual time off, and two weeks dedicated to continuing medical education (CME), supporting a healthy balance between professional responsibilities and personal life.
Compensation for this role is highly competitive, with a base salary of $500,000 plus production bonuses, bringing total expected earnings between $700,000 and $840,000 annually. Additionally, a $65,000 sign-on bonus is offered.
