We are currently seeking a full-time Chef de Partie to join this dynamic team. The Chef de Partie plays a crucial role in the support and execution of the restaurant's visionary cuisine. This position is primarily responsible for the preparation and production of foods and garnishes utilized during service, ensuring that all elements meet Alinea's high standards of quality and presentation. This full-time, hourly role expects candidates to be available to work between 45 to 60 hours weekly across five days, predominantly during the evening shifts, although open availability is strongly preferred to meet the demands of the service schedule.
The ideal candidate will work under the guidance of senior chefs to complete daily assignments with precision and professionalism. The Chef de Partie supervises a designated kitchen station, managing all items produced and collaborating closely with the back-of-house team to maintain exceptional food quality and adherence to established recipes and preparation lists. Responsibilities extend to overseeing station cleanliness, equipment maintenance, supply ordering, and the development of junior kitchen staff through supervision and mentorship. Maintaining rigorous standards of food safety, hygiene, and efficiency while upholding FIFO practices to minimize waste is expected. The role involves fostering positive communication between front-of-house and back-of-house teams to ensure smooth operations and an outstanding guest experience.
In addition to technical skills, this role demands a commitment to continuous self-improvement, teamwork, adaptability in fast-paced settings, and composure under pressure.
