This includes teaching multiple courses and engaging in simulation operations that replicate real-world air traffic scenarios. The role also encompasses participation in Instructional Systems Design (ISD) projects, which involves the continual development, revision, and maintenance of air traffic control (ATC) training courses and scenario development. This position requires candidates to have a high school diploma or its equivalent, coupled with significant practical experience. Specifically, a minimum of five years’ experience as a Certified Professional Controller (CPC) managing live air traffic, or recent experience as a contract instructor at an FAA facility, is essential. The experience must relate to the same type and level of ATC facility for which training support is requested, such as Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCC), Airport Traffic Control Towers (ATCT), or Terminal Radar Approach Control facilities (TRACON). Furthermore, the role requires the ability to obtain ATC Simulator Certification for the designated facility and to pass a Government background investigation along with securing Public Trust clearance.
