The Public Safety Monitor-Front Desk position at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA, plays a crucial role as the first point of contact for patients and visitors within Southcoast Health facilities. This role requires someone with exceptional customer service skills, the ability to think independently, and strong problem-solving capabilities. The Public Safety Monitor is responsible for ensuring that all individuals entering the facility are authorized and have legitimate business, thereby maintaining a secure and welcoming environment for everyone. This position offers a 32-hour work week on a day shift schedule from 6:45 am to 3:15 pm, including weekend and holiday rotations, providing stability and balance for employees. In this vital role, your responsibilities will include welcoming and assisting patients and visitors with courtesy and professionalism, providing directions, and coordinating support for anyone requiring special assistance. Beyond customer service, this position also demands a solid understanding of safety protocols, conflict de-escalation techniques, and the capacity to operate effectively with minimal supervision.   • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Prior security, customer service, or administrative experience preferred
  • Completion of MOAB de-escalation training within 120 days of hire
  • Full vaccination against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or approved exemption
  • Ability to work a 32-hour week including weekend and holiday rotation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
