The Aviation Project Manager role at Kimley-Horn's San Jose office is a critical position requiring at least eight years of aviation engineering and project management experience. This role is not remote and demands an on-site presence given the collaborative nature of the work involved. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing aviation projects from planning through construction. Responsibilities encompass preparing detailed analysis reports that support airport planning, design, and construction processes. Beyond technical expertise, the position requires managing multiple project tasks, including project design, permitting, construction coordination, and multi-disciplinary team collaboration. The Project Manager will ensure high-quality deliverables, maintain oversight of project budgets and schedules, and coordinate effectively with clients, contractors, and governmental agencies. • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
• minimum eight years of relevant aviation engineering experience
• ability to obtain professional engineering (P.E.) license within 12 months if not already licensed
• proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation
• strong communication and interpersonal skills
• capacity to work both independently and collaboratively
• experience with FAA regulations and pavement design
