The position involves maintaining an energetic atmosphere in the store, engaging with multiple customers simultaneously at the cash wrap, and creating lasting impressions that encourage repeat visits. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate and efficient completion of register and point-of-sale transactions, including sales, returns, and exchanges, while ensuring that merchandise pricing is correct and appropriately overrides are used.
Additionally, this role ensures clear communication of product information, care instructions, delivery timeframes, and promotional offers to customers. The ability to recommend complementary products and add value to the customer’s original purchase is essential. The associate will also actively promote in-store events and workshops meant to enhance the overall Williams-Sonoma shopping experience. Maintaining visual standards and keeping the cash wrap area well-stocked with supplies is also a part of the responsibilities.
Another important aspect of this role is problem-solving – effectively addressing customer concerns and maximizing company resources to fulfill customer needs. Collaborating with the management team and following all company policies and procedures is expected. Mobility and physical capability to operate POS systems and lift medium to large items up to 75 pounds using proper safety equipment is required. Availability is a must, particularly for full-time associates who need open schedules and part-time associates who must be available for weekend and weekday shifts.
